My trendy favorite right now is Rose Gold.  I really don't consider it a trend as I have had my eye on it for awhile and I also don't think it is going away any time soon.  We all have seen rose gold jewelry, but it's popping up in clothing and home accessories.  I love it paired with soft gray and cream.  I also love it because it feels so modern.  How about you?

Color Focus | Not so Mellow Yellow

It's now officially Spring and this Spring it's all about color. The brighter and bolder the better.  I thought the neon trend from last year was a one season thing, but everywhere I look neon is staring me in the face and I am kind of in love with it. If you want to dive right into Spring then go with a bold yellow.  It will put a smile on your face and little sunshine in your life. No mellow yellow allowed. It's all about going BOLD!

Color Focus | Floral Patterns in Purple ( or perhaps Red Bud)

The beginning of Spring to me always starts with those first blooms on our red bud trees. That hot pink- fuchsia- purple color that bursts forth around mid February means Spring has begun.  I started to post this as a floral pattern roundup and then realized that all the flowers I had picked out reminded of the colors on the red bud tree. I guess it only makes sense as spring is officially only two weeks away + floral pattern is hot right now. Don't these shades of purple and pink make you excited about a fresh new season? Let the garden lounging begin!

On Trend | 2013 Home Decor Trends

If you know me I can't get enough of interior design magazines, home decor blogs, and HGTV.  I wouldn't call it an addiction, but I find the whole home design process stimulating.  Once I see a new trend or design all I can think about is how I can do that in my own home. I am very pleased with some of the design trends for 2013 and am happy to share a few of my favorites with you. The great news is that all of these fab items can be found on Etsy. Enjoy!

Trending | Triangles

I am a fan of patterns and geometrics. I really can't get enough of them and triangles are
a particular favorite. It's such a simple shape + fun and modern. Let's explore some
of my favorites:

1. Colorful and bright painted wooden triangles by Perrodin Supply Co.
    These would make a great statement in a group of three or more.

2. Branch & Olive has all kinds of goodies, but I especially love these mini note cards with
    neon triangles. Don't forget to check out the back for a pop culture movie quote.

3. Everyone knows the easiest way to change up a space is to add or change out your pillow cover.
    I really love this apricot, gray and pink combination available at Neon Vintage Design.

4. Gold is so hot right now in fashion and home decor. A Quiet Curiosity makes this polymer clay necklace in both pink and gold and black and gold.

5. This modern top designed by Out of Line has this awesome top stitched triangle pattern. Also available in black, gray and teal.

6. Keep your favorite pictures happy in this trendy triangle picture frame by Mmim.

7. Black and White + Triangles! I love this little pouch by Bookhou at Home. Great as a makeup bag for your purse.

8. Packaging is so important, it gives your product that finishing touch. Creatiate's shop is full of so many fun stamps and this triangle pattern is no exception.

Harvest Your Style | An Etsy Style Guide Challenge

Fall is here and it's time to do some harvesting!  We're not talking about getting your hands dirty in the dirt while digging up the potatoes - our focus is on what's hot on Etsy!  We'll be curating theme based Etsy shopping guides to make navigating the diverse world of Etsy really e.a.s.y.  We hear you when you say that you love Etsy, but often get overwhelmed when trying to locate quality shops.  As individual shop owners, we spend a lot of time 'harvesting' and collecting our favorite Etsy finds so you don't have to.  Think of us as your personal shoppers - someone to take you inside Etsy and show you around.  Our monthly Elite16 style guide challenge is an opportunity for us to share our favorite items with you in a mini gallery setting using an Etsy tool called a 'treasury'.  The Etsy treasury system makes shopping fun and our group of talented shopping guide curators will be using the theme Harvest Your Style for inspiration this month.

Get Your Fall Color On! An Etsy Style Guide Challenge.

For this month's Etsy Style Guide Challenge theme, we're going to be exploring COLOR!  Over the course of 2 days, our group of Etsy shop owners will be curating a variety of shopping guide treasuries with the central theme of Get Your Fall Color On!  Today is also the last day of Fashion Week in NYC, so we might see some trends expressed Etsy style!  Our goal here is to meet the needs of many people who love Etsy, but often feel overwhelmed by all the choices.  In this way, we make shopping on Etsy easy by presenting some of our favorite items together in a 'treasury' collection.   As shop owners, we spend a lot of time on Etsy and have gotten to know our way around.  We know where to go to find those quality shops & through our shopping guides, now you will too!
